HI All,
I have followed the instructions for networking ASA from my laptop "client" to my FSX desktop "Server" to the letter but i must have missed something.
When i load ASA on my client i get the following error.
Your station database files could not be updated. please make sure sharing is properly setup if using a networked configuration. Proper ASA operation is not possible. please restart ASA tp attempt database reset.
I have set up all the shares and the 2 pC's are in the same workgroup.
what have i missed please?

Morning All,
after a few weeks of tinkering with this i am still no further forward.
I have revert back to ASA being on the PC that hosts FSX.
if i start ASA before FSX then i get no issues what so ever. ( It has crashed to desktop once but it was a single event ans left FSX stable)
If however i start ASA after FSX i get the following message again
"Warning .. FSX station database files must be modified. Please close FSX first and press ok to continue."
this pop up sits in the middle of the screen and wont disappear until such time as FSX is fully closed.
clearly i am doing something wrong or there is an issue.
you help is appreciated.

You must start ASA before FSX so that the database can be modified. Once FSX is started, the database is locked, hence the message.
