Cloud depiction problem

When at an airport where weather conditions are supposed to be overcast, the weather seems to depict itself properly. However, if I wait a few minutes(can be as little as two minutes) the sky conditions sometimes change into something that isn't accurate. For example, I started a flight in Boston. The weather conditions as of right now are overcast and light snow. The sim depicted the overcast skies the way they should have looked, but that realistic depiction changed as I was setting up my aircraft. What happened in this case was the sky remained overcast, but with a huge area of blue sky. Climbing out of the airport I did not go through any cloud layers whatsoever either. Even though according to the current conditions there are supposed to be clouds at 2300ft. The METAR both on the program and in the real world match, so I cant understand why this keeps happening. So far every flight I've flown into or out of an overcast area ends up "clearing up" into a partly cloudy sky or remains partially overcast with a huge area of blue sky. I also never seem to go through any thick overcast cloud layer. Seems I always end up with broken skies after reaching a thousand feet or so. Also If it calls for rain a lot of times there will be mostly blue skies, and a few clouds. Hope to have this solved its getting rather irritating.

Two improper depictions of storms.

Theres what I meant by a big blue open area:

Picture is quite funny as well, never noticed who was in the control tower before hehe. That picture was taken earlier today as I said it depicted the weather: http://www.wunderground.com/US/MA/Boston.html correctly for a minute then changed into what you see in that picture.

Hi,

What are your system specs?

What are your cloud settings in FSX set at?

Thanks,

intel core quad 2.33GHZ

intel core quad 2.33GHZ processor Nvdia 9800gt graphics windows XP 32bit 3.5GBram. For the weather settings I have the cloud coverage density set all the way, and the cloud draw distance set all the way. Just started another flight, everything appeared normal as it should then that big blue gap appeared again. It does seem to correct itself eventually if I pause and wait a bit as I just did now. However, knowing what's happened before if I leave it paused to regenerate the weather it will end up doing the same thing again.

Hi,

What is your FPS set at in FSX? It sound like your computer is not able to stay caught up and we know that the first thing that is dropped are the clouds.

Thanks,

Ok heres the results: On the ground nothing changed, so no random blue patches appeared. It replicated a severe storm rather well that part seems to be solved now. However, when climbing through the weather the clouds broke up and it continued to rain, I didn't go through any overcast layer as depicted from the ground.
