Server status page?
Submitted by BeachComer on Fri, 05/21/2010 - 10:48
Trying to get weather for 4/11/10, 14z and 3 more hours, no files are downloaded. Msg in the d/l box says, "Hour 14Z not available/incomplete download... continuing to next...". It does this for every subsequent hour, IOW 15Z, 16Z, 17Z. No files are created in the downloads folder.
When I try to check the server status page using the "Server Status Page" button on the Download Weather dialog box, it takes me to http://sales.hifisim.com/datanet/statuspage.htm, and the page is blank.
Help me, Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!

Hi, It is possible that, that
Hi,
It is possible that, that one hour of data did not get archived properly and that is why you got the error message. There is no way to go back and re-achieve the data.
About the page, there was discussion that the page was coming down and Damian may have removed it.
Thanks,

FOUR hours, Jim, and actually
FOUR hours, Jim, and actually more. The following hours generate error messages on 4/11: 11,12,14,15,16,17,19,& 23z. I reported and am now repeating, "14z and THREE MORE HOURS." Kindly have the courtesy to pay attention. It is very discouraging, after having spent money on a product, when after waiting for a support response, the response you get is based on incorrect uptake of information by the responder. Then more time must be spent repeating and clarifying.
The same four hours on the previous day, 4/10, are also just flat unavailable. I WAS able to get those four hours on 4/12, but that's not the point.
Not trying to get you to re-archive that data, but to find out why, on an increasingly frequent basis, this problem is happening, and get it fixed. But now you're taking down the status page? Why? No longer relevant? Pushing AS6 aside?

Hi,
I just tried, and every single hour of weather that you listed was downloaded and saved, even the 4-11 14Z and 3 more hours of data. So I cannot duplicate this and there are no other reports of data issues.
Are there any other dates/times I can try?
Thanks,

Hey, Thanks, but the problem
Hey,
Thanks, but the problem still obtains for me. Testing 4/11/2010, 00z and next 23 hrs. yields errmsgs for the following hrs being missing/incomplete: 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19,23z.
Testing 4/10/2010 starting from 00z and next 23 hrs gets errmsgs for the following: 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, & 23z.

Hi,
Is your anti-virus scanning the downloads?
What happens for you if you try those same hours but one at a time, not using the consecutive hours option?

Hey, Jim,
Yes, AVG was. I have excluded the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\ASv6 folder and subfolders from scan.
Question: does ASV put files in a temp folder during the d/l and then copy them to the default folder listed abov.e? Or does it d/l them directly to the folder? IOW, is there some OTHER folder I also need to exclude?
Your other question I will work on.
Thanks,

Hi, Jim, There was no
Hi, Jim,
There was no difference between single and multiple d/ls. However, I then did a Bad Thing in testing: I changed two variables at once. I excluded the designated WX folder from AVG, and when AS6 froze up, I shut it down and restarted it. I can't say, therefore, which variable it was that has resolved the problem, though I had just started AS6 and FS when the Missing/Incomplete errors started. However, the problem has disappeared. Thanks for your help!
I have searched the forum for the discussion regarding the decision to shut down the Server Status page, as hinted at in your first response in this thread, but have been unable to find it. Was this a discussion on the forum, or just among yourselves on staff? If on the forum, may I know which thread, please?
Thanks!
