Getting error message 701 when trying to upgrade to ASE
Submitted by bankheadd on Sat, 06/26/2010 - 21:33
After doing a reinstall to WIN7 & FS9 Gold I'm having a problem upgrading to ASE. I get the following error message (ASA install path not found ASA(SP1 or Later) must be installed to run this upgrade first. I have installed the following (SP2 UPGRADE, SP4 B1169 & UPDATE B433)
For some reason I can't check to find how to verify my version or it any of the updates worked. Ido see Build 1169, not sure if this is the current version.

Hi, 1. Make sure ASA is not
Hi,
1. Make sure ASA is not installed into the Program Files folder.
2. When installing ASE make sure it is being installed into its own folder and not the ASA folder.
3. If this doesn't work, please drop me an e-mail and I'll get you a fix.
Thanks,

I am having the same error
I am having the same error message when trying to install the upgrade from ASA to ASE. I have ASA build 433. I uninstalled ASA from the c:\program files\hifi directory and re-installed it so that the \hifi directory (and subdirectories) are in the root c:\ instead of \Program Files
Even after doing that, I still get the 701 ASA SP1 not found error message. I don't get the option to determine where to install ASE because I get the error message before I can choose where to install it.
Please help.
