A frind of my who are a network pro have helped me with all this but could not sovled the problem with connection between my two computers, he said that it has to be something we forgot or that the developers of ASE was the only one who should be able to solved this problem so I hope that someone are here on the forum , or if anyone of you guys cane help me how to do.
I also have notice on the net that there are many who cant make it work and some can but did not find anything thats helped me.
If I install ASE on the computer were FSX are there are no problem at all, but i like to have in on a client computer because I'm building a FSX system with 6-9 screens and 4 computers.

Hi, Have you set up the
Hi,
Have you set up the config files correctly? One is on the client and the other on the server. The used ports unblocked on both firewalls?
If you run the AI Traffic utility on the client with FSX running, does it connect and show the traffic?
I use a Win 7-----XP network so I know networking does work fine between the 2!
Thanks,

Hi,
Yes I have edit *.cfg and use same port and the port are open for both and set in my router.
No connection when I run AI Traffic on the client computer.
Were should I look for the traffic, on FSX or ASE ?
According to PeteEHAM I should change both computers to Homegroup but now I'm really confuse, according Win7 manual homegroup only works on computers with Win7 installed.
What group do you use, home or workgroup ?

Hi,
Workgroup as XP does not recognize Homegroups.
You run the AI traffic utility on the client with FSX on the server. Then you watch the utility on the client and it should show you AI trsaffic as it leaves and enters FSX. If the utility closes down automatically, that means that the connection between the 2 computers is not correct.

I am running win7 and I use ASE over my network with no problem at all.
You have to change your settings to HOMEgroup on BOTH computers.
When you select control panel - network and internet - network and sharing centre you should see your 2 (or more) computers connected. If not, you have to reconfigure your home network.
Hope this helps, greetings,

Don't use a Home Group in Win 7 for networking.
The default Workgroup name is different than XP/Vista so you'll need to change that in Win 7.
Once you do that and properly set up the files that are necessary, then things should work. I am using Win 7 and XP so I know things can work out!

Hi,
I have copy some of the relpy I have recived above
Now I'm really confuse (I may be very dumb LOL)
What is correct setting option, Home or workgroup and in Win7. Should this also been done in XP and is there any option to chose Home or Workgroup in XP ?
If so, cane you explain for my how to set the network for both of the versions, please.
I also read somewere that if you have ASA you should not uninstall it, only install ASE becaus ASA has some files that were needed for ASE. Cane I download ASA and install it as DEMO, then install ASE ? May that fix my problem ?

Hi,
Workgroup in both Win 7 and XP.
Best to use the networkng help in Windows or on the Internet for general networking help. There are too many variables involved for me to specifically help.
There is no ASA demo. If you have the ASE Full version, that is all you need. If you have upgraded from ASA, then you leave ASA installed!
