matching metars

ASA Metar reports with loaded flight plan. The report at either departure or destination airports do not match between the map view, and the route briefing.

The Map view matches what the actual weather reports are in the real world, however in the flight plan briefing page with enroute weather, the departure and destination reports are not the same as reported. This is a big difference between few clouds or clear, right down to broken clouds or even rain. As far as what I see in the sim, it appears to be mixed. In map view: CYYZ was clear, in sim it was not. When arriving to KTPA it was supposed to be raining, in sim it was not.

Anybody getting this? I can live with it because weather is just a visual treat for me - but when I look out my window and I see clear skies, but I'm taking off through a broken layer in my sim - that bugs me.

ASA settings - mostly default. Above example was using FS9 all programs with latest updates.

Hi,

1. At CYYZ what was the METAR? What was showing in FS?

2. What was the METAR at KTPA?

3. A report of FEW clouds is 1/8 or 2/8 clouds and is close to clear, especially if surrounding stations are reporting clouds. Also, unless your house is near a weather station, that is not a good way of comparing things.

Please give me some example data and I'll be happy to take a look for you.

data example

I don't have the specific data from previous as an example for use here. As of this moment (0405Z sept 13) an example: KTPA in MAP page shows SCT068 and 10SM. In Briefing page it shows SCT068 BKN230 and 34SM vis. (both indicating ADVANCED INTERPOLATION). Regardless, they SHOULD be the same. CYYZ-KTPA flightplan loaded. The only place I could have gone wrong is reading the TAF instead.

It is not so important that it is drawn accurately for me as much as it is which METAR in ASA is correct. The only time I will notice accuracy of depiction is when I fly in Toronto, and I live 5NM from CYYZ, and CYTZ both of which have weather stations. (CYKZ and CYKF in region).

Hi,

I just went to KTPA in ASA and evertything matched up for me between the Map and Report Screen.

Are you forcing to real time in ASA and using system time in FS?
