About HiFi

HiFi started developing flight simulation Add-ons in the late 1990's, originally for the Fly! platform. Our first Microsoft Flight Simulation add-on, Active Sky wxRE, was released in 2002 and focused on achieving the most realistic weather simulation possible.

Over the years, we've dedicated ourselves to continuing the development of Active Sky, by way of the help of our customer base, who provides us with the motivation, ideas and criticism that always keeps us striving for more.

Active Sky Advanced, released in December 2008, is now the 6th major version, and as always, we're keeping an eye out towards the future.

Beyond weather simulation, with the help of various talented programmers and artists, HiFi has also produced several award-winning graphics add-ons including XGraphics, and recently released a new entertainment-based passenger simulation add-on (XPax).

Today, HiFi is in the process of restructuring its development studios, adopting new technologies and re-tooling with the latest in software development, customer interaction, and core business trends. We have several new exciting products in development and will soon be using our new website to share the details and interact with our customer base in brand new ways.

HiFi's main development studios are located in California, USA, but our team stretches globally. Our development and internal testing teams are composed primarily of real-world pilots, weather enthusiasts and meteorological experts. We all share the common goal of continuing development innovations that bring new levels of realism, education and entertainment to the simulation experience.
